I will have to be quick about this, so the format of the review will be a little different today - okay, so I started playing a browser based MMORPG called Runescape recently, and since I need something to review right now, I will talk about it. The game is a point and click fantasy MMORPG, and is free to play, unless you want to become a member and pay 5 bucks a month to play. It is officially the most popular free MMORPG with over 150 million registered accounts. So is it any good?
Good Things About Runescape
The playerbase is large, meaning lots of people to make friends with.
The game world is pretty big, and the openworld nature makes it easy to explore.
The browser based client is nice, and means you can play on any computer with an Internet connection.
There is a tutorial to start you off, so new players are not too lost.
There is lots to do in Runescape.
The player run economy is nice and quite complex.
The music is pretty good.
Bad Things About Runescape
Most content is locked away for members only, and now there are even pop up messages asking if you want to subscribe.
The game can be quite repetitive with all the skills to train, and can sometimes be boring.
The combat is boring, as you basically just watch them fight, and you have no involvement at all.
The fanbase is also known to be a bunch of idiots as well. Yesterday, I was called a noob, got stalked through a town, and then I switched servers -although I did meet another "newbie" like me who wanted a friend, so I guess you have to dig pretty deep to find the good.
The graphics are colorful, but are also very blocky, and are not the best.
New players may find a lack of direction.
Overall, Runescape is reccomended. |
