Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Review

Introduction
When the first version of this game came out a year or two ago, I never reviewed it (this blog didn't exist back then.) I was never a big fan of fighting games, but I decided to review this one. If you played the original, you know the drill. It is a 2D fighting game with lots of characters to fight with. This version has more characters, and according to the website, "better" gameplay, but I would not know because I never played the original. So is it any good?

The Review
Overall, this game is a good game. The character balancing is great, so the fights in this game are almost always fair. The game is beautiful, because the colorful world and interesting style really add an interesting flair to the experience. The additions are creative and interesting, but I really do not want to ruin the surprises. No matter if you are playing multiplayer or singleplayer, this game is really just plain fun to play.

There are some interesting new additions.
It is not without some issues though. This version feels too similar to the original version, so unless you are a really hardcore fan or never played the original game, I would not buy it. I might rent it though. There is also no challenge mode for the new characters, so they may annoy some fans, although I am perfectly fine with it.

It feels too similar to the original version.
Highlights
The Good: Great character balancing, colorful graphics, interesting additions, and fun fighting.

The Bad: Feels too similar to original version, and there is no challenge mode for the new characters.

The Result: I give it 4 out of 5.

  1. The king of fighting games, A fight that requires strategy, tactics and patience. A game for the hardcore is really needed today. The more time and effort you spend on this game, the most rewarding and fun.
