E3 Recap 2011

Well, E3 is over. It wasn't much of an E3. Read on to find out what I think about all the most popular E3 news.

Nintendo announced that Super Mario Bros 3DS is on the way, as is a Super Smash Bros for the 3DS. Why didn't they wait till those games were released and then release the system? Those would make some good launch games!

I think Nintendo forgot about the Wii, because they never even mentioned it, practically.

There was the announce of Nintendo's Wii U. I would like to meet the guy who came up with the name. I heard that Nintendo's stocks plummeted because all the investors were convinced the Wii U was shit. The good part though, is that the Wii U will have some M rated games too, so they are discussing the possibility of Mass Effect 3 coming out for the Wii U.

Looks kind of like an iPad with controls on it.
Sony didn't do any better. They did have a pretty good Uncharted 3 Demo and some great other surprises, but they talked too much about 3D. They did announce their new handheld, the Playstation Vita, which is, I guess, the NGP's new name. Overall, their presentation was not very exciting.
The Sony Vita! Behold!
Microsoft's sucked as well. We did get to watch demos of Modern Warfare 3, the new Tomb Raider reboot and Gears of War 3, but everything else sucked. They did announce Halo 4, and that was pretty exciting, but even that was not enough to save the show. They, as I predicted, talked on and on about Kinect. Most of the games they announced were for stupid Kinect! Star Wars Kinect, Kinect Disneyland, Kinect Sesame Street and more. The only exciting announcement with Kinect is the announcement of Minecraft for Xbox 360 (with the support of Kinect!)

A Big Mistake.
We also, of course, got lots of updates on the games that were already announced, like Rage, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and The Old Republic. Unfortunately, nothing all that interesting came out of it. Damn! I wish Star Wars: Battlefront 3 would be announced! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

Epicness!
