Are you guys into those old "B" movies? You know, the ones that are usually really hokey, and usually feature things like alien invasions, giant bugs and Godzilla? Cause if you do, you might like this game. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is a class based, slightly openworld arcade style shooter in which you save the world from an army of rampaging giant bugs. There are lots of modes, including singleplayer, co-op, survival and more. You can also drive vehicles. So, is it any good?
The Review
It is not bad. Probably a rental, and possibly a purchase. The game aims for fun so there is no fleshed out story. The multiplayer is very fun, and you and your buddies could spend a lot of time playing this, especially with all the modes to play in. The boss battles are awesome. The bosses are monstrous, and bringing them down feels satisfying. There is also tons of cool weaponry to unlock and use, and that just adds to the fact that blowing up stuff is a blast. I think I spent just as much time fragging enemies as I did blowing the scenery to smithereens.
The game focuses on fun, first and foremost. |
The game can get very repetitive. |
The Good: Fun multiplayer, awesome boss battles, tons of cool weaponry, and blowing up stuff is a blast.
The Bad: It can be very repetitive, and the graphics and sound are highly mediocre.
The Result: I give it 3.5 out of 5.
