News Roundup

Today I will discuss the latest news and give my opinion on it. Ready? Okay.

Well, first off, Nintendo's 3DS got the price cut a few days ago after the 3DS's sales slumped. It seems that Nintendo is throwing the Wii out the window and just focusing on their handhelds. Nintendo's estimated sales dropped 82% this year. We will just have to keep playing our handhelds while the Wii collects dust.

Sony managed to sell the most units in June, as the PS3 and PSP both brought in nearly 2 million in sales. It is almost as if the PSN outage helped Sony's profits. This is amazing, considering that the PS3 was the underdog in terms of sales. The 3DS didn't even sell 1 million units yet, so Sony is handing Nintendo's ass to them. Despite the AT&T announcement, it seems that Japan is more excited for the Playstation Vita then the Wii U.

Not much happened to the Xbox 360, except for the fact that you can buy a Star Wars themed Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle soon.

The Red Faction series was shelved recently, because of Armageddon's bad sales. This is a shame. The FPS Brink will be getting DLC, and it will be free for a limited time. Various 3DS titles omit save data overwrites, so you can never delete your save file. They claim it was so it felt "more like an arcade game". It was really a DRM scam. It was also discovered that half of Netflix's customers stream through consoles, and the Wii is the most commonly used for that.

See you in a couple days, and hopefully I will have a review ready by then!
