F.E.A.R. 3 Review

Introduction
F.E.A.R. 3 is a brutal horror FPS, as you can tell by the name, and it is a sequel. The story follows the F.E.A.R squad as they take out psychos and supernatural beings. sounds a bit like the Ghostbusters. Eh, whatever. The new features in the 3rd game include splitscreen co-op, a better cover system, and some new modes. So, is it scary?

The Review
The game is pretty good. The core shooting gameplay can be really fun, and can be even more fun with a friend. The multiplayer modes are unique, because I never seen anything like them before, but man, they are really fun. While the game doesn't have that many scares, the scares they use can be quite frightening. The game also sounds good. The music is creepy and it fits with the atmosphere. The sound-effects make everything that much more exciting with all the explosions and moans.
He has you cornered!
There are only two problems with this game, but they do not really weaken it at all. The game is pretty low on scares. Yeah, the areas can be dark, and some monsters jump out of the closets, but other than that, the game mostly focuses on making the enemies explode into blood as much as possible (almost like the Saw movies.) The graphics are also pretty mediocre, and they look slightly dated, but they are not that bad.

The game is similar is style to Doom.
Highlights
The Good: The shooting gameplay is fun, the multiplayer modes are unique and fun, there are a few good scares, and it sounds good.

The Bad: It doesn't have many scares to live up to the name, and the graphics are mediocre.

The Result: I give it 4 out of 5.
