Red Faction: Armageddon Review

Introduction
I have said this before. War never changes. It still has not. Even in the future. The year is 2170. You are Darius Mason, and you join the Red Faction to save Mars and clear your name. Unlike the previous games in the series, this one is not open-world, but you certainly get lots of freedom with how much you can destroy in the environments. This is obviously a type of shooter game. It is a third-person shooter, in the style of some of the later Resident Evil games. So, is it any good?

The Review
This game luckily gets a lot of things right. There are lots of things to destroy. Blow it all up! To help with that is the fantastic weaponry, which can give the game some variety and creativity. It feels good to shoot the aliens with a shotgun. The game looks pretty good too. I like the aesthetics. It is not overly realistic, and there is actually a lot of color in there if you get past all the brown and black. The game sounds pretty good. You might have a hard time hearing the music, if all you can hear is explosions though.

Die motherfuckers!
The story is sadly, cliche filled. You know, the action movies with the smooth talking space marine that says, "DIE MOTHERFUCKERS!" every few seconds? You will get lots of that here. The only other noticeable problem is that some areas can get very repetitive. It reminds me of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. That game has, like, 3 different rooms, and they tie them together with the same bland corridors, and then they connect all of this to another set of identical rooms. Fun.

Creepers? Is this a Minecraft ad?
Highlights
The Good: Lots of things to destroy, powerful weaponry, good graphics and good sound.

The Bad: Cliche filled story, and areas can be repetitive.

The Result: I give it 4 out of 5.
