Duke Nukem Forever

Introduction
Poor Duke. He is getting more like Sonic the Hedgehog everyday. They both have a famous "cool-dude"attitude. They both started out great with amazing games, and they both fell down into a boiling pot of lava. Sad isn't it. Well, the game is finally here. The simple FPS game is out, and it only took 14 years. Was it worth it to kill so many of these video game developers for this? Read on to find out...

The Review
Nope. It was not worth it at all. I think they all forgot what made Duke, Duke. The game is mediocre at best. I would've guessed. After 14 years of development, he lost his charm and fun, just like the hedgehog. The game gets very little right. The shooting parts can be fun. They are just simple, but are pretty fun. The Duke's one-liners can still be pretty funny, as long as you have a 90's mindset whenever you play. Just take my word for it. This game is not for feminists. The multiplayer can be fun at times too, and at times funner than the Story Mode. The simple fun comes from blowing your friends up and yelling one-liners at them. The graphics kind of feel outdated, but they are not bad. Just average. Nothing special.

What a ladies man.
The sound effects and music are not great. The electric guitar music fits the style of the game, but isn't very catchy. The sound effects are mostly just the usual fake sounding boom and messed up sounding gun. The vehicle levels feel pretty unnecessary, like they were there to add variation to the gameplay, but it wasn't supposed to be fun. Overall, the level design is boring. There is some annoying puzzles here and frustrating platforming here. This is what makes the multiplayer fun-no platforming or puzzles. The frame rate in this game is pretty low too. It makes Duke look like he is blasting aliens in hyper-slow motion.

A magazine announces the development of the game. See the date below? November, 1997.
Highlights
The Good: Shooting parts can be fun, Duke's one-liners can be funny, multiplayer is pretty good and the graphics are not bad.

The Bad: The sound effects and music are not great, the vehicle levels feel unnecessary, the level design is boring and the frame rate is low.

The Result: I give it 2.5 out of 5.
