Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Video Game Review

Introduction
It was only a matter of time. These popular movies were hits, and so were lego games. There are currently Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Harry Potter, and even Lego Batman and now, finally a game based on Disney's hit movie series starring Johnny Depp. If you have played any previous lego games, you know what to expect: lots of charm, lots of collectables and lots of characters. This game has a lot of that, and it does a pretty good job of capturing the "piratey" spirit of the movies, but still seems to fall flat. It seems that TT games just gave up on solving old problems.

The Review
This game has a good amount of positive highlights, but they are weighed down by the negative highlights. Lego Pirates has better graphics than other lego games before it. The lighting and the water is just so beautiful. Like all the other lego games, there is lots to collect, and it is still addictive to do so. That helps raise the replay value. What is also in the other lego games is charm, and this game has lots of it too. Jack retains his almost drunk swagger in the game. There is also tons of characters to unlock. You can play as the villains as well.
There is still lots of charm.
There is a lot of bad as well. Some puzzles make no sense. You have to make your way through a cave like 3 times to get to a boat you were beside anyway... This also comes from the other lego games: the partner AI sucks. All your partner does is walk into walls for no reason. Another point: If you never seen the movies, the plot can be confusing. It is not easy to understand a story without dialogue. The last bad point is that combat can get repetitive. It gets annoying if you are trying to figure out a puzzle any you keep getting shot, or hit.
If you have never seen the movies, the plot can be confusing.
Highlights
The Good: Great graphics, getting all the collectables is still addictive, lots of great charm and lots of characters to unlock.

The Bad: Some puzzles make no sense, if you never saw the movies it can be confusing, awful partner AI, and combat can get repetitive.

The Result: I give it 3.5 out of 5 .
