Portal 2 Review

Now, I know everyone has reviewed this great game, but I need a piece of this thing, so here we go. If you do not want to read on, read this: Buy Portal 2!

Introduction You may have heard of the original Portal game by Valve. It was a puzzle-FPS hybrid that introduced a charming sense of humor into the video game industry. It's world was filled with lunatic, killer robots and some idiot robots as well. The portal gun is one of those guns that stick in your mind forever, even though Valve (and some other people!) used that to make money with toys. However, for some reason, Valve thought of it as a appetizer for the other games in it (the Orange Box complication). Everyone else thought of it as a full-course meal. Now Valve learned that and brought Portal back in a big way. More jokes, puzzles and plush toys galore!

A good way to cash in for Valentines Day.

The Review
This game still has that comedic tone to it, with all the jokes and clever traps and situations. Believe me, it is a gut burster. The graphics aren't the most amazing in the world, but great none the less. The puzzles never got old and felt like you were replaying Portal because of the Co-op and new gameplay elements. The new characters are all unique and are just as funny as GlaDOS.

The bad part is there are so many loading screens between levels, puzzles and areas, but this is a simple annoyance. The other bad part is it ends, although mankind has not yet found a game that never ends (Did you?), so we will just have to live with it.

Highlights
The Good: Hilarious writing, the graphics are great, feels sort of new and old at the same time because of new elements to the puzzles, the co-op campaign is awesome and the new characters are great.

The Bad: It ends and there a lots of loading screens.

Result: I give it 4.5 out of 5.

The portal gun at work.
